The school social worker serves VBCA in a variety of different ways. She is responsible for providing social history information on individual students for the Special Education Committee. She also deals with attendance issues, talking with students, teachers and parents to promote compulsory school attendance. Another task includes assisting students who may be dealing with concerns that adversely affect school attendance and performance, lending support and resources.
