Ms. Cosette D. Livas ,
the School Improvement Specialist (SIS), serves as the School Test
Coordinator for all state assessments
and oversees the academic tutoring program and Transition Support
course. State assessments include the Stanford 10, which is administered
to ninth graders in October, and end-of-course SOL tests, which are
administered at various times throughout the year. Click here to see the VBCA

After-school tutoring is currently offered to all students in
the following core subjects: Algebra, Geometry, Earth Science,
Biology, World History, World Geography, US History, and English.
Parents and students are encouraged to schedule tutoring sessions
with subject area teachers. Behavioral intervention is addressed through the Transition Support
Course, a mandatory semester course for elective credit. The course
incorporates a research-based prevention curriculum specifically
designed for high-risk youth. The facilitator for the course is
Mr. Donald Hicks.
